How to Cook

Method 1 – Stove Top

  • Rinse herbs briefly.

  • Add herbs, 1.5L water, and 350g of preferred meat (pre-blanch if using bone-in meat).

  • Boil for 5 minutes, cover, and simmer for at least 1 hour.

Method 2 – Electric Cooker

  • Rinse herbs.

  • Add herbs, 1L water, and 350g of meat.

  • Use the ‘Soup’ function: 1.5–2 hours on high or 3–4 hours on low, depending on your cooker.

Optional Add-ins: skinless chicken, lean pork, pork ribs, or vegetables like lotus root, Chinese yam, carrot, sweet corn, assorted mushrooms.

 

Tips for Best Results

  • If signs of internal heat appear, consume the soup every other day.

  • Avoid raw, cold, or greasy foods during recovery.

  • After Day 14, continue with Souper Goodness Dangshen Red Date Tea for 2–4 weeks to gently nourish qi and blood.
